It does strike me as a little bit weird that EA can have Matias Sointu on the Devils roster but not have Blair Riley on the right team considering how recent Sointu’s arrival was, but still it’s just a video game and these rosters probably take a back seat compared to other leagues in the game. So here are the rosters, names not on the roster anymore are in italics and positions are listed as they are in the game. EA usually launches a new roster shortly after NHL opening night to get the opening night rosters and guys who are joining from the NCAA.

Whether an update shortly after the start of the NHL season will correct the mistakes I’m unsure. Just to warn you, the rosters are not anywhere near 100% up to date, so there will be a few players who are on the squad that shouldn’t be, as you’ll see below, mostly for the Giants just due to the number of new faces in the squad compared to the Devils.
How has the game rated each player on the Giants and Devils in their initial roster release. The Belfast Giants on the other hand have an attack rating of 60, defence rating of 70 and are rated 68 when it comes to goalies.īut this is what we’re really here for. So let’s see exactly how the video game franchise has ranked each side.įirst from a team aspect, EA has given the Devils an 66 rating for offence, 66 for defence and a rating of 72 goalies. That’s right, the Champions Hockey League is back in the game and that means once again so are the Cardiff Devils, and this year so are the Belfast Giants. While we could bore you with a review of the game after a quick play through, instead we’re more focussed on something else that’s included in the game. Once again EA Sports have put out a new addition of their NHL video game franchise with the release of NHL 20 with Auston Matthews on the cover.
